Jazz saxophonist Paul Taylor performs live at the intimate Middle C Jazz venue in Charlotte.
Paul Taylor plays Middle C Jazz on Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24. He's doing two sets each night—6:00 PM and 8:30 PM—so there are four chances to catch him over the weekend.
Taylor is a Denver-raised saxophonist who got his start when Keiko and Kazu Matsui discovered him at the Catalina Island Jazz Festival. His debut album, On the Horn, came out in 1995 and hit the jazz charts with "'Til We Meet Again." Ladies' Choice later topped the contemporary jazz charts, and Countdown made the Top Ten. He's known for blending soulful melodies with contemporary rhythms and for a charismatic stage presence.
Middle C Jazz is one of Charlotte's premier jazz clubs, and it's set up for a night like this: an intimate room with excellent sightlines and table service. They have a curated menu of small plates and desserts to order while you listen, and the venue is cashless, so keep your card handy. It's at 300 South Brevard Street, right in the heart of the city.
