Two-part dance experience with workshops, performances, networking, and community resource tables for Charlotte's dance community.
Dance Artist Alliance Charlotte (DAACLT) is taking over The Long Room on Friday, October 9, for an evening called Next Move. It's a two-part dance experience built for Charlotte's dance community, and it runs from 6 PM to 10 PM.
The first half is all about getting on your feet. There are workshops where you can move and learn, and performances that let you watch other dancers do their thing. The second half shifts toward the social side: networking and community resource tables, where you can connect with other artists and pick up information on the local scene. If you're a dancer, it's a night that lets you move, watch, and talk shop in one go.
It's a broad tent, so you can do as much or as little as you like. You can spend the whole night in the workshops, stick around for the performances, or just come for the networking and the resource tables. If you're new to the city's dance world, the tables are a good place to startβthey're there to point you toward the resources and groups that keep the community running.
