A live chamber music concert by Phoenix Down RPG combined with a beginner-friendly cyanotype printing workshop led by Virginia Dunn.
Phoenix Down RPG is playing at Divine Barrel Brewing on Saturday, October 10, from 12 PM to 1:30 PM. It's a free afternoon, and it's built as part live chamber music concert and part immersive arts experience.
If you've never heard of them, Phoenix Down RPG blends classical and folk with what they call 'nerdy chic.' They describe their work as telling timeless stories while breaking the molds of traditional performance, and their repertoire runs the gamut: modern chamber music, retro-inspired gamified variety shows, klezmer fused with electronics, tabletop gaming soundtracks, and improvisatory tabletop gaming theatre. It's a wide reach, and this particular set is inspired by nature.
While the music is playing, you can make cyanotype prints using natural elements, guided by teaching artist Virginia Dunn. All the materials are provided, so you don't need to bring anything. The printing is limited to 30 adults (18+), but anyone can come along and enjoy the live music. It's described as a beginner-friendly experience, so you don't need any prior art or music background to get into it.
