Local and regional pianists perform live at Mint Museum Uptown as part of the Steinway Residency Series, presented by First Horizon Bank.
Let the Music Play: Steinway Residency Series returns to the Mint Museum Uptown on Wednesday, October 21. It's part of a rotating lineup of local and regional pianists that takes the stage every third Wednesday of the month, so if you've missed the previous ones, this is a good time to catch up. The series is presented by First Horizon Bank in collaboration with the Steinway Piano Gallery.
The performance runs from 6:00 to 6:45 PM, which is a short enough window that it doesn't take over your whole evening. Because it's part of the museum's Free Wednesday Evenings, the concert is free. The galleries stay open until 9:00 PM every Wednesday, so you've still got plenty of time to walk through the collections after the music wraps up. There's also Mariposa at the Mint on-site if you want to grab a drink or a bite to eat before or after.

Since the lineup rotates each month, you'll hear a different pianist every time the series comes around. It's a good way to hear some of the piano talent working in the region without having to commit to a full-length recital. The 6:00 to 6:45 PM slot fits right into the middle of the museum's extended Wednesday hours, leaving you room to see the art and still be home at a reasonable hour. Admission is free.
