An evening of food and ghost stories at The Dunhill Hotel, with tales from Nightly Spirits about the hotel's haunted past, ghostly legends from the neighbouring Carolina Theatre and other eerie chapters of Charlotte's history.
The Dunhill Hotel is hosting its Haunted History Dinner on Friday, October 23, at 6 PM, in the hotel's private event space. It's a seated three-course dinner, and the storytelling is handled by an expert from Nightly Spirits, who spends the evening filling the gaps between courses with tales of the property's haunted past.
The stories lean on the hotel's own lore: the ghost of 'Dusty' is said to roam the ninth floor, and an elevator spirit lingers between worlds. The night doesn't stop at the hotel's walls, either. The storyteller brings in ghostly legends from the neighboring Carolina Theatre and other eerie chapters of Charlotte's history, so you get a look at the neighborhood's hauntings alongside the hotel's own. Each evening opens with hors d'oeuvres and a complimentary glass of bubbly to start things off.

If you want to make a night of it, there's a 'Haunted History room package' that bundles two dinner tickets with complimentary self-parking and a breakfast credit at The Asbury, so you can stay overnight and wake up in the same building you spent the evening talking about. Space is limited and reservations are required, so you'll want to book ahead rather than waiting until the last minute. The dinner is at 6 PM on Friday, October 23, at The Dunhill Hotel, 237 N Tryon St.
