Grammy-winning jazz singer Gregory Porter performs with pianist Jarrod Lawson at the Ovens Auditorium.
Gregory Porter plays Ovens Auditorium on Saturday, February 27, 2027, with Jarrod Lawson joining him on the bill. Porter is a GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter from Brooklyn, and he's touring with his long-time band.
If you've followed him for a while, you know the sound he's built around—class, elegance, and sophistication. This show comes on the heels of his first-ever Christmas album, Christmas Wish, a tribute to songwriters and interpreters like Stevie Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald, Marvin Gaye, Dinah Washington, and Nat King Cole. The record includes three original tracks, with the single "Everything's Not Lost" as one of them. Samara Joy features on "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?", and the whole thing was recorded at Sear Sound in New York, Crossways Studio, and Abbey Road Studios in London, produced by Troy Miller.
Jarrod Lawson shares the stage with him, so it's two voices on one bill rather than a single set. Porter's band will be there too, the same group he's worked with for years.
