Community book sale with fiction, non-fiction and children's books for sale at the Allegra Westbrooks Regional Library.
Charlotte Mecklenburg Library is holding another community book sale on Saturday, October 24, at the Allegra Westbrooks Regional Library, formerly known as Beatties Ford Regional Library. It runs from 9 AM to 1 PM, so it's a morning thing—get in early if you're looking for the best picks. The library puts these on throughout the year as a way for people to find new and gently used books for themselves or as gifts, and this is the next one on the calendar.
The tables will be stocked with fiction, non-fiction, and children's materials, so you can browse for your own reading and pick up something for the kids at the same time. Some of these sales carry special themes when the library has enough books on a particular subject to sustain one, though the core of it is always a wide mix of genres. If you're the kind of person who likes to dig through stacks until you find a title you've never heard of, this is exactly that.
If you've got a stack of books at home you're ready to part with, the library welcomes donations of excess books. You can drop off one box or bag a day at any Charlotte Mecklenburg Library location, rather than leaving them outside. It's a good way to clear some shelf space while making sure your old reads end up back in the community.
