Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Community Book Sale

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library is holding a community book sale at Mountain Island Library on Saturday, November 21, from 9 AM to 1 PM. This one leans into the speculative side of things, with science fiction, fantasy, manga and graphic novels taking center stage. If those are your genres, it's a good morning to spend digging through the stacks.

These sales are part of a larger series the library runs throughout the year. The general idea is simple: readers can pick up new and gently used books for themselves or as gifts, with fiction, non-fiction and children's materials on offer. While most of the sales cover the basics, some carry special themes when the library has enough books to sustain one—and this one is one of them. The sci-fi, fantasy, manga and graphic novels are the focus here, so you'll find a concentrated selection of those genres rather than just a few scattered titles.

If you've got books of your own to move, the library welcomes donations of excess books. You can drop off one box or bag a day at any Charlotte Mecklenburg Library branch—just make sure to bring them inside rather than leaving them outside. It's a straightforward way to clear out your shelves while helping stock future sales.

So, if you're in the mood for a morning of browsing, the sale runs from 9 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, November 21, at Mountain Island Library, 4420 Hoyt Galvin Way in Charlotte.
