An intimate performance series by Charlotte Ballet in the 200-seat theater at the Patricia McBride and Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux Center for Dance.
Charlotte Ballet is bringing its Black Box Series back to the Patricia McBride and Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux Center for Dance this October, with performances on the 15th, 16th, 17th, and 24th. All four shows start at 7:30 PM, so you've got a few dates to choose from if one doesn't fit your schedule.
The Black Box Series is built around a specific kind of experience: an intimate setting that puts the audience close to the stage. In a room this small, the precision and musicality of the dancers are on full display, and very little is hidden. It's a different way to see the company than their larger productionsโyou can really track the movement and the detail from your seat.
The performances take place at the Center for Dance, located at 701 N. Tryon St. in Charlotte. The Center is the home of both Charlotte Ballet and the company's Academy, and the shows are held in its 200-seat theater, the same space that hosts the company's Innovative Works series. There's an on-site bar available, so you can grab a drink before the curtain goes up.
