Chad Gray performs his 30 Years of Madness concert, featuring songs from Mudvayne and Hellyeah, with support from Butcher Babies and Devils Cut.
Chad Gray brings his 30 Years of Madness tour to The Underground at The Fillmore Charlotte on Sunday, October 18. It's a career-spanning set that pulls from the two bands he's known for: Mudvayne and Hellyeah.
Gray has been fronting Mudvayne since they formed in 1996. Their debut, L.D. 50, sold over half a million copies within a year, and they put out four more albums before going on hiatus in 2010. They reunited in 2021 and released new music in the summer of 2025. In 2006, Gray started Hellyeah, a supergroup with Nothingface's Tom Maxwell, Mudvayne's Greg Tribbett, and Pantera/Damageplan's Vinnie Paul. Paul died in 2018, and Hellyeah's Welcome Home was finished in 2019.
30 Years of Madness marks three decades of Gray's career, and the show pairs Mudvayne and Hellyeah songs in the same set. He's described the tour as a "rabbit hole" for like-minded people who've been along for the ride, and the shows are billed as unique events. On stage, he's backed by touring musicians: Marcus Rafferty on guitar, Devin Attard on drums, Nick Villarreal on bass, and Joe Bonasorte on guitar. Butcher Babies and Devils Cut open the night.

It's a long way from the early days of L.D. 50 and the supergroup lineup of Hellyeah, but it's the first time you'll hear material from both bands on the same bill. The show is at The Underground in Charlotte on Sunday, October 18, with Butcher Babies and Devils Cut supporting.
