Soulful live tribute by Charlotte vocalist Bri Gallagher to the music of Linda Ronstadt and Bonnie Raitt.
Bri Gallagher takes the stage at Middle C Jazz on Wednesday, November 4, with a tribute she's calling Love & Other Bad Ideas. The show focuses on the music of Linda Ronstadt and Bonnie Raitt, two artists whose work stretches across rock, blues, country and soul. The set draws from songs that soundtracked a generation's experiences of falling in love and falling apart, from "Something to Talk About" and "When Will I Be Loved" to "You're No Good."
Gallagher is a familiar face on the Middle C stage, known for a soulful sound and deeply emotive performances. She brings her love of rock, soul, blues and storytelling to every show, and this one is no different. Offstage, she works in the disability community, helping adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities pursue meaningful employment and greater independence.
She won't be on her own for this one. The band includes John Dillard, Rodney Shelton, Mikey Marrero and Scott Middleton, so it's a full ensemble behind her. The music they're covering spans several genres, and the setlist pulls from the catalogs of both Ronstadt and Raitt.
