Bontan

Bontan plays The Music Yard on Friday, October 9, with Nikko Gerena and Yona opening for him as part of the House Vibrations showcase. Bontan is Andrew Phillips, a Liverpool-born DJ and producer who's spent the last few years climbing the Beatport charts. He was voted a Radio 1 Future Star, won Best Newcomer at the DJ Awards, and has two Radio 1 Essential Mixes to his name. The last twelve months have seen him on sold-out North American tours, a slot at Coachella, and plays across the globe and Ibiza.

His recent work has moved into Afro House, and the numbers back that up: in 2025 he launched his own imprint, North Drum, and ended the year as Beatport's fourth best-selling Afro House artist—his second consecutive Top 10 finish in the genre. He's also put out a remix for Major Lazer and released on underground labels like No Art, Maccabi, Blackbook Records, and Good Company. He comes to Charlotte on the back of a run that's taken him through elrow, Paradise, Mayan Warrior, and Factory Town.

Nikko Gerena and Yona are on the bill with him, so the night starts well before Bontan takes over. The Music Yard is at SouthBound, 2433 South Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28203. Doors open at 6 PM, and the music runs from 6 PM to 11:30 PM. Tickets start at $21.74.
