Free, guided lunchtime art tours led by museum docents at The Mint Museum, part of the ArtBreak program across Charlotte's Uptown museums.
ArtBreak is back at The Mint Museum on Thursday, October 22, from 12 PM to 12:30 PM. It's a free, docent-led lunchtime tour, and this particular one is part of the ArtBreak Randolph program.
If you haven't come across it before, ArtBreak is a collaborative effort between three of Charlotte's Uptown art museums: The Mint Museum, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, and the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture. The tours are led by docents, and they run in three-month themes, so the focus shifts every few months. On any given date, you pick one of the three museums to visit. The program started with the Mint docents as part of a set of new initiatives to improve public tours, and it was supported by the THRIVE Fundโa fund set up to provide financial stability to Charlotte's cultural sector and administered by Foundation For The Carolinas.

Because it's a lunchtime thing, it's easy to fit into a workday if you're downtown. The tour runs for half an hour, and there's no admission or registration required, so you can just show up. The tour on October 22 is at The Mint Museum from 12 PM to 12:30 PM, and it's free.
