A creative meet-up for makers to bring their current art project and connect through art during a morning session.
Charlotte Studio Artists is hosting its 2nd Saturday Makers' Meet-Up on Wednesday, October 7, from 10 AM to 12 PM. The premise is simple: bring whatever art project you're currently working on and spend a couple of hours making it in the company of other people doing the same. It's a creative morning together, and the focus is as much on the people as the work.
If you're not familiar with the space, Charlotte Studio Artists is a collaborative studio and exhibit space for artists working across a wide range of mediums—painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, collage, and assemblage. It's a place where different kinds of making sit under one roof, which fits the open nature of the meet-up. The organization partners with the Johnston YMCA to support the arts in NoDa and offers art classes to the community, and the venue also hosts exhibitions.
The meet-up is built for makers to bring their current project and connect through art during a creative morning together. Whether you're halfway through a canvas, sketching in a notebook, or working on something smaller, the idea is to get your work out in the open and spend some time around other people who are also in the middle of something. It's a low-pressure way to spend a Wednesday morning.
