Seven Wonders, a tribute to Fleetwood Mac, perform their biggest hits at The Gate in Cardiff.
Seven Wonders bring their tribute to The Gate Arts and Community Centre on Friday 23 April, a night dedicated to the music of Fleetwood Mac. The band is a group of first-class musicians who've come together to pay tribute to the legacy of the band, and they describe the show as capturing the spirit of Fleetwood Mac across several different eras.
That's the key to the set: it doesn't just stick to one period. They draw on the Peter Green years, the best-selling Rumours album, and the 80s classic Tango in the Night, so you'll hear the early blues-rock alongside the polished pop-rock that came later. It's a fair bit of ground to cover in one evening, and the setlist runs through a selection of their biggest hits to do it: 'Go Your Own Way', 'Don't Stop', 'The Chain', 'Everywhere', 'Rhiannon', 'Dreams' and 'Little Lies' are all on the list.
If you're familiar with the original records, you'll recognise the songs from different points in the band's history. 'The Chain' and 'Dreams' are from Rumours, while 'Everywhere' and 'Little Lies' come from Tango in the Night. Putting them together in one show gives you a run through the different sounds they're known for, from the guitar-led early days to the melodic pop of the 80s.
