Concert by Sally Stenning, an Edinburgh artist whose sound spans alternative, folk, indie and alt rock, as part of the Swn Festival 2026.
Sally Stenning plays Clwb Ifor Bach on Thursday 15 October, as part of the Swn Festival 2026 programme. It's a solo bill, so she's the only name on the poster for the night.
Stenning is an Edinburgh artist, and her sound sits across alternative, folk, indie and alt rock. That's a fair bit of ground to cover in one set, and it's a good way to get a feel for where she's coming from. The folk side suggests the acoustic, song-led end of things, while the alt rock and indie pull it towards something louder and more electric. When those two meet, you usually get a set that can shift from a quiet room to a full band sound without losing its way.
Because she's playing as part of Swn, this is one of many shows the festival spreads across the city. Swn is a Cardiff institution, and having a Scottish artist come down for it fits the way the festival usually works, bringing in acts from across the UK to play alongside the local scene. It's a good time of year for it, too, with the city's venues all working together over the course of the festival.

Clwb Ifor Bach is on Womanby Street, right in the heart of the city centre, so it's easy to get to whether you're coming from the station or just walking in from the high street. The show starts at 6:00 PM, which is a bit earlier than your usual night gig, so it's one you can get to and still have the rest of your evening ahead of you.
