Welsh garage rock band Redchecks live with The Cheap Thrills and Danny Griffiths at Clwb Ifor Bach.
Redchecks are playing Clwb Ifor Bach on Tuesday 13 October, with The Cheap Thrills and Danny Griffiths on the bill. It's a Welsh garage rock band based in Manchester, formed in Glastonbury back in 2021. They've built their name on a raw, abrasive sound that draws on The Strokes and Manic Street Preachers, and their debut single 'Matchbox' became a BBC Introducing Track of the Week. They also made it to the finals of Glastonbury Festival's Pilton Stage competition.
Frontman Tomi Edwards writes bold, playful lyrics that tackle social deprivation, and the band has evolved its sound over time to bring in shoegaze influences like Fontaines DC. Their debut EP, New Modern Games, went down well with fans in South Wales, so this is a good chance to hear them live on home soil. The Cheap Thrills and Danny Griffiths open the night, making it a full bill rather than just a single act.
