An intimate evening of poetry and live music with UK poets, hosted by Tia-Zakura and Ragz-CV, with a live band playing improvised music.
Poetic Wales comes to the Norwegian Church Arts Centre on Friday 16 October, an evening of poetry and live music presented by Poetic Unity alongside Platfform, the Wales Millennium Centre and Cardiff Music City. It's part of the Cardiff Music City Festival, with support from the Welsh Government and Cardiff Council.
The headline poets are Tia-Renee, Thomas Kenechi and Rithvik Andugula, and the whole night is hosted by Tia-Zakura and Ragz-CV. A live band accompanies the poets with improvised music throughout, so the music follows the words rather than the other way around. The evening also opens up to the room with an open mic: anyone wanting a slot signs up at the venue between 6:30pm and 7pm, with limited spaces and five minutes per performance.

Doors open at 6:30pm and the show closes at 10pm, so if you're planning on signing up for the open mic, you'll want to be there early. Tickets range from £6.50 to £11.25, and there are none sold on the door, so you'll need to book in advance. The night is recommended for ages 12 and over, and casual dress is fine. The venue is at Harbour Drive, Cardiff CF10 4PA.
