Paul Smith: Happy

Paul Smith is back at Utilita Arena Cardiff on 15 January 2027, bringing his new tour Happy to the city. It's a comedy writer's show, and if you've seen him before, you'll know the format: a good chunk of the night comes from him working the room, picking on people in the crowd and letting the evening go wherever the audience takes it.

Happy is billed as a show packed with outrageous audience interaction and stories pulled straight from real life. The stories are the other half of the set, and they're just that — things that actually happened, told with the same directness he brings to the crowd work. He describes the show as being about finding joy in the chaos, laughter in the everyday and comedy in absolutely everything, and he sums it up as raw, real and uncontrollably funny. It's a new tour, so this is fresh material rather than a run-through of old favourites.

If you can't make the January date, there are plenty of other chances to catch him. He's playing two nights in a row on 15 and 16 January, and then he returns to the same venue in the summer for two more dates on 13 and 14 August. That's four shows in total at Utilita Arena Cardiff, so you've got a fair few options to choose from across the year.

The arena is on Mary Ann Street, Cardiff CF10 2EQ, right in the city centre. With four dates on the bill, you can pick the one that fits best — the winter run or the summer return — and keep the rest of your calendar clear.
