Paul Heaton performs his new album 'Jenius' with special guests Lightning Seeds on his UK arena tour.
Paul Heaton plays Utilita Arena Cardiff on Monday 2 November, part of a large UK arena tour running through October and November. He'll be joined by Rianne Downey, with Lightning Seeds as special guests.
Heaton is touring his new album, Jenius, which came out on 21 August 2026. It's his 23rd album, arriving nearly 40 years after The Housemartins' London 0 Hull 4. The record holds 15 new original songs and was produced by Ian Broudie of Lightning Seeds, recorded at Blueprint Studios in Manchester. The set will draw from across his career, with songs from The Beautiful South and The Housemartins alongside the new material.
If you're coming to him from the bands, there's plenty of ground to cover. He was the lead singer and main lyricist of The Housemartins, who had their commercial peak between 1985 and 1988, including the UK number one 'Caravan of Love' in 1986. After they split, he formed The Beautiful South with the Housemartins' drummer Dave Hemingway; their debut single 'Song for Whoever' and the album Welcome to the Beautiful South arrived in 1989, and the band scored the number one 'A Little Time' during the 1990s. Since then, he's built a following under his own name.
