A free two-day intensive training course to become a presenter on Radio Platfform, the youth radio station of Wales Millennium Centre, delivered in Welsh and English.
Explore Radio Broadcasting runs at the Wales Millennium Centre on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 October, a free two-day intensive course run by Radio Platfform, the youth radio station of the centre. It's delivered in both Welsh and English, and it's built for everyone from total beginners to diehard fans of radio and podcasts.
Over the two days, you'll learn how to create different kinds of shows, how to record like a pro even from your own bedroom, and how to present and interview. It's not just about the technical side, either — the presenting and interviewing part is a big chunk of it. By the end, you become a member of Radio Platfform and get access to the station's studios in Porth and Cardiff, with the chance to record and broadcast your own shows.
The course is aimed at young people who want to become presenters on the award-winning station. It's a proper introduction to the craft, and since it's run by the station itself, you're learning from the people who actually do it. The membership you get at the end is the real prize: it opens up the studios in Porth and Cardiff, so you've got a place to keep going after the course is over.
