An intimate, heartfelt song show by Camille O'Sullivan celebrating friends and lost loves, with collaborator Feargal Murray.
Camille O'Sullivan brings Loveletter to the Weston Studio at the Wales Millennium Centre on Thursday 3 December, part of a short run from 3-5 December. It's a song show she's touring with collaborator Feargal Murray, and she describes it as a love letter in song β an intimate, heartfelt set where each song takes on a different character.
The songs are a tribute to her dear friends and influences, and the list is a broad one: Shane MacGowan, SinΓ©ad O'Connor, David Bowie, Radiohead, Brel and Nick Cave. It's not a covers set in the usual sense; the way she describes it, with each song taking on a different character, suggests the whole thing is built around those voices rather than just a run-through of the songs themselves.
O'Sullivan has a long, varied career behind her. She toured with the Pogues, guested at Yoko Ono's and Richard Thompson's RFH Meltdown, and was the original star of the Olivier Award-winning La Clique. The Daily Telegraph voted one of her performances among the top 25 ever on Later with Jools, and the BBC called her the 'Queen of the Edinburgh Festival'. Before she took to the stage, she was an award-winning architect and painter β she won the Herald Angel award for her RSC solo performance The Rape of Lucrece and an Architectural RIAI 2025 award. She was born in London to a French mother and an Irish/English father and grew up in a village in Cork.
