Bill Bailey returns to Utilita Arena with a show celebrating the tradition of vaudeville, mixing comedy, songs and musical skills.
Bill Bailey returns to Utilita Arena Cardiff on Sunday 15 November, with a show called Vaudevillean that does exactly what the title suggests: it celebrates the old vaudeville tradition. If that sounds a bit distant, it's the variety entertainment that used to be the prime-time draw of its day — a mix of comedy, songs and a fair few different skills, with stories of showbiz and the city woven in, all aimed at amusing a broad audience. Bailey, a multi-instrumentalist and multi-lingual performer, bills himself as a modern vaudevillean, and the show draws on his trademark musical stylings and characteristic wit.
It's a new one for him. Vaudevillean debuted to success in New Zealand this autumn, and this Cardiff date is part of a brand-new UK arena tour for winter 2026. So, if you've seen his previous tours, this is different material rather than a repeat of an older run. The whole thing is built around that variety format — comedy and music sitting side by side rather than one taking over from the other — and it's Bailey's musical side that does a lot of the heavy lifting here.
