Screening of the film Club Kid, directed by Jordan Firstman, as part of the BFI London Film Festival 2026, with audio description and captioning available.
Chapter is screening Club Kid on Sunday 18 October, as part of the BFI London Film Festival. It's a 122-minute American film, the feature directorial debut of Jordan Firstman, and it's the only festival screening happening in Wales this year.
The story follows a jaded New York club promoter whose messy lifestyle is upended when he discovers he has a son. Set in the US, it charts a man whose life unravels after the birth of an unexpected child, as a decade of drinking, drugs and clubs takes its toll on him. It's described as a perfect assault on millennial alienation and highly emotional, and it was one of the most discussed films at Cannes this year.
That puts it in a bit of context: it's a first feature from a director who's making his mark, and it's coming to Cardiff after a big run of conversation at one of the world's biggest festivals. The screening is part of the BFI London Film Festival 2026, the festival's 70th edition, which runs from 7 to 18 October. While the main hub is in London, the festival screens films at partner cinemas across the UK, and Chapter is the only Welsh venue taking part.

So, if you're around on that Sunday, you can catch it right here in the city rather than heading to London. The screening is at 12.40pm, and audio description and captioning are available.
