Free weekend photography show with hands-on testing of more than 30 camera brands, workshops and a prize draw, part of Cambridge Photography Month.
The Cambridge Photography Show is back at The Graduate Hotel on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October, running from 9 am to 5 pm both days. It's run by Campkins, the camera shop on Mill Lane, as part of their Cambridge Photography Month, and it's grown from a local gathering into a full weekend for photographers, filmmakers and creators from across the region. The hotel is just a short walk from the shop, so it's easy to pop in and out over the two days.
The main draw is the gear: more than 30 camera brands side by side, which is a rare chance to test different systems back-to-back rather than hopping from one shop to another. You can pick up show discounts and get hands-on guidance from brand specialists and the Campkins team, and it's a good place to connect with other photographers in the city. There are also talks and workshops running throughout the weekend.
Behind the scenes, the show is a Campkins production. Owner Owen Howell has called this the store's biggest year yet, and Rhys Taylor, who heads up social media and events, describes the show as his 'pride and joy' and says it gives back to Cambridge photographers. That local connection is a big part of why it's grown the way it has.
