If you are after a proper Halloween night out, Zombie Fest 9 is the one to circle. It lands at Cambridge Junction on Saturday 31 October, and it is strictly 18+, so bring a valid photo ID or you will not get past the door. The main event runs from 3pm to 11pm, with doors opening at 3pm, and the whole thing stretches to twelve hours if you add the afterparty.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Cambridge and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The scale is the first thing worth noting. More than 90 artists are billed across six themed stages, with over 70 of them already confirmed. The Asylum takes the 90s and 00s classics, The Graveyard is jungle and drum and bass, The Haunted House runs house, techno and progressive, Satan's Church is hardcore and hardstyle, Devil's Playground leans into trance and hard dance, and The Dungeon is for breaks. That spread means you can move between rooms depending on what you are in the mood for rather than being stuck with one sound all night.
On the confirmed bill, N-Trance are set to play Set You Free, the track that hit number two in the UK charts in 1995. Joining them are the Stanton Warriors, Jaguar Skills, Barry Ashworth of Dub Pistols, Mr C, Ultrabeat playing Pretty Green Eyes, Ratpack, Dougal, Slipmatt, Grooverider, Logan D, Lisa Pin-Up, Rob Tissera, Alex P, Scott Garcia and MC Vapour. Triple Threat, the UK drum and bass crew of Harry Shotta, Y-Zer, Tiny K and Ironlung, are also on the line-up; they appeared on ITV's The Voice on 12 September performing More Than That in front of will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, Kelly Rowland, Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones. If you want to keep going after 11pm, the AFTERLIFE afterparty runs from 11.30pm to 3am with Fish56 Octagon, the London-suburbs DJ and producer who built a following of over a million on TikTok since 2021. That part is separately ticketed and subject to capacity.
The venue gets a full makeover for the night, with themed décor, roaming Halloween characters, stilt walkers, fire breathers, meet-and-greet experiences, photo opportunities, street food and fancy-dress prizes. The takeover covers areas J1, J2 and J3 plus the car park. If you would rather not queue, there is a Q-Jump ticket, and the VIP offering adds a premium bar, luxury sofas and private toilets. There is also a new R.I.P. area with luxury seating, a private bar, toilets and a viewing balcony. A bundle lets you add AFTERLIFE entry to a main event ticket, and there is a buy-three-get-one-free deal on R.I.P. tickets.
Prices start at £40 plus a booking fee via Skiddle, and the first and second releases have already gone. A few things are worth knowing before you commit: there is a zero-tolerance policy on drugs and weapons, no re-entry once you leave the venue, and a list of prohibited items that includes illegal substances, legal highs, food, liquids, marker pens, spray paint, flares, canisters and DSLR cameras. You will need original ID to get in, so a passport, foreign national ID card, driving licence or home office approved PASS hologram is the way to go. The festival has been running since 2015, when it started as an all-night event at Mildenhall Stadium, and it has been a three-time UK Festival Awards finalist, so it is not a first-timer.
