The shop covers several levels of tailoring. You can order bespoke suits, which are hand-cut and hand-made in England by Savile Row artisans, or choose made-to-measure or ready-to-wear clothing. Alterations are complimentary and carried out in the in-house workshop. There is also a dedicated wedding suit collection, available either made to measure or off the peg. The range goes well beyond suits. You will find jackets, overcoats, waistcoats, dress shirts, ties, cravats, rugby shirts, chinos, trousers and knitwear. There are also parkas, raincoats, tailcoats, trench coats and dinner suits, plus more casual pieces such as jeans, polo shirts and T-shirts. The store stocks brands including KEEN, Loro Piana and Sahara. The business says it sources its materials from crofters in Shetland and silk weavers in Como, and that all its silk ties are made locally in East Anglia.
The Cambridge store is run by store managers James Smith and Josh Piper. Both have worked in the business for 15 years and hold an equity stake in it. The team also includes Ash, Pippa and Josh. The original owners, John and Jane Deane-Bowers, have been retiring, and the independent department store chain Coes has taken over ownership. William Coe, managing director of Coes, has been a shareholder since 1997.
