Concert by the British rock band Wishbone Ash, known for their pioneering twin-lead guitar sound, at St George's Bristol.
Wishbone Ash play St George's Bristol on Sunday 18 October, starting at 7.30pm. They're a British rock band that's been around for over five decades, and their whole thing is built on a twin-lead guitar sound that they pioneered early on. It's that double-lead attack that set the template for so many rock, metal and progressive acts that followed, with bands like Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden among those who took it up.
If you're familiar with their catalogue, you'll recognise the songs they're known for — The King Will Come, Throw Down The Sword and Blowin' Free are some of the classics. They've put out a lot of records over the years, sold millions of albums and spent a good chunk of those five decades on the road. They're still touring and recording, and the set they're playing these days pairs the old songs with the new, so you'll hear the early material alongside their more recent work.
It's a straightforward bill: just Wishbone Ash on the night. The show is suitable for ages 14 and over, so it's one you can bring a younger music fan along to if you fancy it.
