Finnish progressive rock band Von Hertzen Brothers present intimate seated theatre shows, celebrating 25 years with an acoustic set.
Von Hertzen Brothers play Trinity Centre on Sunday 1 November, part of a run of seated theatre shows marking their 25th anniversary. The Finnish trio — brothers Jonne, Kie and Mikko — came together in 2000 after playing in separate bands and have since become one of the most influential rock acts in Finland. Their sound pulls from rock, folk, progressive and pop, woven with the mysticism of Finnish folklore and the countryside they grew up in. They've won numerous awards, including an Emma, the Finnish equivalent of a Grammy, and have played in 21 countries alongside acts like Neil Young, Biffy Clyro and Opeth.
Their latest album, In Murmuration, is out, and this Bristol date belongs to a run of intimate seated theatre shows celebrating 25 years. The set reimagines their songs away from the usual electric rock setup: intimate, expansive and more immersive than their standard live shows, but far from a simple 'unplugged' set. It's an acoustic set, and they'll be joined by a support act still to be announced.
