Historian Tracy Borman brings the secrets of the Tudor dynasty to the stage in a theatrical history show with visuals, props, and music.
Tracy Borman brings her Tudors on Tour to the Redgrave Theatre on Tuesday 13 October, a theatrical history show that takes the Tudor dynasty from the page to the stage. Borman is a historian and broadcaster, currently the Chief Historian at Historic Royal Palaces and one of the UK's most trusted voices on the period, and she's built this show around her own book.
It's not a history lecture. Borman brings the dynasty to life with visuals, props, costume, film and music, pushing the evening into a live spectacle rather than a talk. The material runs from Henry VIII's six wives through to Elizabeth I's private world, with spies, Shakespeare and court intrigue along the way. It's pitched especially at GCSE and A Level history students, and has drawn praise from The Sunday Times, The Times, The Observer and the Daily Mail.
The show runs for two hours, including an interval, and starts at 7:30pm. Doors open half an hour before the performance, so you've got plenty of time to get settled before it kicks off. The age guidance is 12+, and under-18s need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
