An evening of talks and discussion on living with wolves and lynx in Slovakia and their reintroduction to Britain.
Tracking Wolves and Bringing Back the Lynx comes to Waterside 3 Event Space at Watershed on Wednesday 25 November, an evening of talks and discussion on living with wolves and lynx in Slovakia and their reintroduction to Britain. It's put on by The Wolves and Humans Foundation and the Slovak Wildlife Society, two organisations that work with these animals on the ground in Central Europe.
The night focuses on two very different sides of the same coin. On one hand, there's the practical reality of living with wolves and lynx in Slovakia, where they're already part of the landscape. On the other, the conversation turns to the prospect of bringing them back to Britain, where both species have been gone for centuries. It's a chance to hear from people who deal with the day-to-day of these animals in the wild, rather than just reading the headlines about rewilding.
Because it's a talk and a discussion, there's room to get into the details that often get glossed over in the bigger debate — the actual logistics of how these animals live alongside people, and what it would actually mean to reintroduce them here. It's not just about the animals themselves, but about the people and the land they share.

The event starts at 19:00 at Waterside 3 Event Space in Watershed, in the heart of Bristol. If you've been following the rewilding conversation from a distance, this is a good place to hear it from the people doing the work.
