Bristol punk n' rollers Split Dogs perform live at Thekla, with Bruise Control on support.
Split Dogs are playing Thekla on Saturday 13 February, with Bruise Control on support. It's part of the DHP Presents 'Split Dogs Nice N' Rough Tour', which takes their second album, Nice N' Rough, out on the road.
That record came out on Venn Records and was recorded at The Station House, a repurposed Victorian police station in Leeds. It was produced by Jonah Falco — who's worked with High Vis, Rifle, and the Fucked Up drummer — and engineered by James Atkinson, formerly of the hardcore band Voorhees. Across thirteen tracks, the album draws on the classics of Plasmatics, New York Dolls, Motörhead and The Stooges, and it's fronted by the larger-than-life rock 'n' roll performance of singer Harry Martinez (they/them). The rest of the band is Mil Martinez on guitar, Chris Hugall on drums and Suez Boyle on bass.
This tour follows a busy couple of years. In 2025 they toured with Gogol Bordello, and 2026 has seen a UK headline run, a headline German tour in July and an EU tour with Danko Jones in October. The Bristol date is one of the stops on this latest run.
