Chinese pianist Siqian Li returns to St George's for a lunchtime concert as part of the venue's Lunchtime Concert series.
Siqian Li is back at St George's Bristol on Thursday 12 November, her first appearance here since a lunchtime debut in 2024 that went down very well. She's a Chinese pianist who's been described as a rising star and featured in BBC Music Magazine, and this is a solo piano recital in the Main Hall.
There's a bit of a track record to her playing that's worth knowing. The Annecy Classic Festival pointed to her virtuosity and talent, and pianist Paul Lewis CBE spoke of her huge emotional range and effortless pianistic control. Emanuel Ax described her approach as graceful and touching. It's a good spread of praise to keep in mind before you sit down.
The concert is part of the venue's Lunchtime Concert series, which runs in the Grade II listed building and is billed as a place of peace, relaxation and escape in the middle of a busy week, with each week offering something new and different. The concerts run for around an hour, from 1pm to 2pm, in partnership with Wards Solicitors in their 120th year. If you're planning to make a habit of them, there are multibuy discounts: 10% off when you buy three or four lunchtime concerts, and 15% off when you buy five or more.
