Folk concert by Seth Lakeman, celebrating the 20th anniversary of his album Freedom Fields, with a full band and 30-minute interval.
Seth Lakeman plays St George's Bristol on Tuesday 13 October, one of twenty dates on a tour running from 12 May to 17 October 2026. The night is built around Freedom Fields, which he'll play in full, alongside other favourites from across his career. There are two sets with a 30-minute interval in between, and he's performing with a full band. There's no support act, so he's the only one taking the stage.
Freedom Fields was Lakeman's second album, released twice in 2006 and produced by his brother Sean Lakeman. It's the one that holds 'Lady of the Sea', 'King and Country' and 'White Hare', and it became his first of six UK Top 40 albums. At the 2007 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, Lakeman was named Folk Singer of the Year and the album took home Album of the Year. This tour marks its twentieth anniversary.
That record came after Kitty Jay, the 2005 album that put him on the map when it was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. Since then, he's kept recording on his own label, Honour Oak Records, with his latest studio album, The Granite Way, arriving in February 2025. This Bristol date is one of twenty on the Freedom Fields tour, which runs from 12 May to 17 October.
