Live electronic show by the future-dub duo OMEGA NEBULA, powered by the SINAI SOUNDSYSTEM, blending dub reggae and dubstep with live instrumentation.
OMEGA NEBULA play the Trinity Centre on Saturday 7 November, their biggest self-promoted headline show to date. It's a live electronic set that runs from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and the night is built for dancing, which they describe as a dose of musical healing. It's open to over-14s, so it's a late one that works for younger crowds too.
Behind the name are Adjua and Dean Forrest, a husband-and-wife duo who front the electronic future-dub sound. Before this, they were the faces of the eight-piece reggae outfit Backbeat Soundsystem on Easy Star Records, so there's a long history of reggae and sound system culture running through their work. They draw on the UK sound system scene, dub clubs and bass-driven subcultures, rolling the heaviest elements of dub reggae and dubstep into uplifting, emotionally weighted anthems built with live instrumentation and killer vocals. It's a sound that's earned support from BBC DJs on 1Xtra and BBC 6Music, and Chaiwallahs once described them as 'uncompromisingly immense'.
