Interactive introduction to string instruments with presenter Laura Tanner and MiniBeats string players, suitable for young children.
MiniBeats is back at St George's Bristol on Sunday 25 October, this time with Super Strings! as the focus. It's a family music event led by presenter Laura Tanner, who brings together a string ensemble of young players to give children an interactive introduction to the sound of the string family. The whole thing is presented in association with the Bristol Ensemble, and St George's is one of their touring venues.
There are two shows on the day, and they're both relaxed performances, which is a good thing to keep in mind if you're bringing little ones who might get a bit restless. The 10.30am show is most suitable for under-5s, and the 12.30pm one for 4-8 year olds, though the ages are just guidelines rather than strict rules. There's a BSL interpreter at both.

One of the best bits is that it doesn't end when the music stops. After each show, there's a MiniMakers crafting session in the Glass Studio, and it's free for all MiniBeats ticket holders, so you can stick around and let the kids make something after they've heard the instruments. Tickets are £9, or a 4-for-3 family ticket if you're bringing the whole gang. The shows are at 10.30am and 12.30pm on Sunday 25 October at St George's Bristol.
