Album launch of Shallow Fantasies by Joe Yorke, blending reggae, rocksteady, dub and soul with post-punk.
Joe Yorke is launching his new album, Shallow Fantasies, at Trinity Community Arts on Thursday 10 December. It's a Bristol-based singer, songwriter and composer bringing his latest record to the stage, and the night is part of Trinity Presents, the venue's own in-house series.
Yorke's music pulls from the full spectrum of reggae culture, blending roots, rocksteady, dub and soul with post-punk, new wave and Northern Soul. He's originally from the North West of England, and first fell in love with music through punk, folk and reggae before immersing himself in Manchester's soundsystem scene. Over the last decade he's built a reputation as one of the UK's most distinctive reggae voices, collaborating with artists like Stand High Patrol, L'Entourloop, O.B.F and Gentleman's Dub Club.

Shallow Fantasies channels a distinctly British sound, weaving together echoes of 1960s pop, Manchester's post-punk legacy and shadowy guitar-driven atmospheres. It's a record that sits between the roots and the dancehall, but with those post-punk and new wave threads running through it. The launch is a standing event for ages 14 and over, and it runs from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Tickets are £10 to £19 in advance plus fees.
