Folk music concert featuring the critically acclaimed duo Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage joined by double bassist Jon Thorne on their Just Announced tour.
Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage are playing the Glass Studio at St George's Bristol on Tuesday 27 October, with double bassist Jon Thorne joining them. It's part of a one-off UK tour, and the Bristol date is one of the stops on their 'Just Announced' run.
Sanders and Savage are a folk duo who play with vintage guitars and harmony vocals, sharing a single microphone for pickup. The two of them have earned a fair bit of praise along the way: Songlines called the act 'arrestingly beautiful', and MOJO described it as 'as heartwarming as it is beguiling'. They've singled out the individual parts too, with Sanders' 'voice of disarming purity' and Savage as 'a singular guitarist'.
For this tour, they're bringing in Jon Thorne, a virtuoso double bassist, to round out the sound. The three of them will be playing together as a trio, with Thorne's bass sitting alongside the vintage guitars and the harmony vocals they're known for. It's a one-off run, so this is one of the few times they'll be touring in this particular combination.
