A high-energy mix of funk, soul and disco to get you dancing, a pure vinyl night run by Streets of Soul.
Funk Addict returns to The Jam Jar on Saturday 19 December, running from 11:00pm to 3:00am. It's a pure vinyl night run by Streets of Soul, the same team behind the Bristol Northern Soul Club, which was a finalist for best event in Bristol.
They bill it as 'The Finest Deep Funk clubnight in the World', and the music lives up to that. It's a high-energy mix of funk, soul and disco, and the set doesn't stick to one corner of the floor. You'll hear deep funk and funk-edged Northern Soul, disco, African funk, jazz funk, gospel, Latin funk and classic funk. It's a broad reach, and the vinyl format keeps it grounded in the records themselves rather than a digital playlist.
