Film screening of Extra Geography, directed by Molly Manners, at Watershed as part of the BFI London Film Festival 2026.
Extra Geography is screening at Watershed on Wednesday 14 October, as part of the BFI London Film Festival 2026 coming to Bristol. It's a coming-of-age film directed by BAFTA winner Molly Manners, who you might know from One Day and In My Skin.
The story follows two teenage best friends, Flic and Minna, at an English girls' boarding school. They're navigating the usual hurdles of girlhood — friendship, boys, studies and growing up — and as part of that, they set themselves a summer project: falling in love. It's a small, personal premise that sits right in the middle of those years when everything feels like a big deal.

Because it's part of the BFI London Film Festival's Bristol run, it's not just a one-off showing. There are six sessions throughout the day, so you can fit it in whenever works best for you: 15:00, 15:10, 16:40, 18:00, 20:20 and 20:40. It's rated 15, so keep that in mind if you're bringing anyone younger. Watershed also provides subtitled and captioned screenings, including subtitle and caption glasses and deaf conversations about cinema, if you need them.
