Film screening of Club Kid, directed by Jordan Firstman, as part of the BFI London Film Festival on Tour 2026.
Club Kid screens at Watershed on Sunday 18 October, starting at 19:30. It's the feature directorial debut of Jordan Firstman, a comedy about a jaded New York club promoter whose messy lifestyle is upended when he discovers he has a son. A decade of drinking, drugs and clubs starts to take its toll on Peter, and the arrival of an infant son forces him to get his life together. The film is billed as a skewering of millennial malaise that's also deeply touching, and it was one of the most talked-about titles at Cannes.
The screening is part of the 70th BFI London Film Festival on Tour at Watershed, which brings the festival's best new films to Bristol and the South West. In total, there are 14 previews, including work by Eleanor Coppola, Martin McDonagh, Boots Riley, Danny Boyle, Lee Chang-dong and Cristian Mungiu. Watershed programmer Steph Read calls LFF on Tour a real highlight of the cinema calendar each year.
