Pottymouth Workshop is a pottery studio in Bristol that also runs classes in Bath and Cheltenham. It was started by Naomi Stokes and Meredith "Mez" Mason, who first ran pop-up workshops in Bristol pubs before settling into their current studio at Windmill Hill City Farm, Philip Street, Bedminster, BS3 4EA. Naomi studied Fine Art at UWE and focuses on wheel throwing, while Meredith studied at Cardiff Met and specialises in hand-building and sculptural forms. The team also includes Charlie, Kate, Lucy and Meryn.

The main focus is the course programme. Groups are small, with four students per class, and courses last between four and seven weeks. There are throwing courses from Level 1 to Level 4, with in-between levels 2.5 and 3.5, and handbuilding courses, including a Make a Dinner Set course and a Level 1 course using pinch, coil and slab techniques. Every course ends with a glazing workshop, and the studio offers free firing for pieces made during the course. Upcoming starts include the Level 2 Throwing course on Tuesday 27 October 2026 (seven weeks) and the Level 1 Throwing course on Monday 9 November 2026 (five weeks).
If you only want one session, there are several one-day workshops. The Saturday Beginners Throwing Workshop runs on Saturday 17 October from 10:00 to 12:00, and the Kids Throwing Workshop on Monday 19 October from 13:30 to 14:30 is for children over eight. On Friday 16 October, the Charcuterie Boards & Condiment Pots session runs from 18:00 to 21:00. It is a three-hour BYOB class on slab building. The Make a Mug workshop at The Old Market Assembly lasts two and a half hours and costs £38.50 per adult, or £34.65 for students and low-income visitors with proof. Materials and firing are included, and pieces are collected four to five weeks later. The dates are Saturday 7 November and Saturday 5 December, both from 12:30 to 15:00. Groups of five or more pay £182.50 in total. For celebrations, a Private Pottery Party costs £480 for a group of ten.
Pottymouth asks you to wear clothes that can get dirty and to keep your nails short. The team is small and may not answer the phone, so email at hello@pottymouthworkshop.com is recommended. Finished work can be collected on Mondays and Fridays from 16:00 to 20:00, though Bank Holidays may vary. The studio is in Windmill Hill City Farm, a 4.5-acre site open seven days a week from 09:00 to 17:00. It has a café and is good for walks. Rescheduling is possible up to seven days before a booking, and full refunds are available for cancellations made at least seven days before (this does not apply to gift bookings). Gift cards can be used within 12 months, and any unused value is credited to your account minus a 20% administrative fee.
