New Road is a shared-space street in Brighton's Cultural Quarter, located opposite the Theatre Royal and near the Royal Pavilion. It was redesigned in 2007 as England's first shared-surface multi-modal non-residential street, featuring a granite surface without curbs to prioritise pedestrians and cyclists, while still allowing vehicles. The street is a popular public space, home to cafes, restaurants, and bars, and is a focal point for festivals and events.
