Theatre course for newcomers and lifelong learners at Theatre Royal Brighton's creative learning programme.
Theatre Royal Brighton is running its Work in Theatre course from 15 to 19 February 2027, a five-day dive into the inner workings of the professional stage. It's part of the venue's creative learning programme, which they describe as part of a wider commitment to opening up the professional stage to newcomers and lifelong learners. If you've always wondered what actually happens behind the scenes of a working theatre, this is where you get to see it from the inside.
The course runs alongside other creative learning strands at the house, so it's not the only thing on the go. One of those is the School of Clowns Course, which draws on the teachings of Jacques Lecoq and is led by master clown Chris Cresswell. Between the two, the theatre is running a fairly broad range of workshops for people coming in from different anglesβone focused on the craft of the stage, the other on the specific, physical art of clowning.
