Documentary theatre and dance piece by the multi-award-winning company LUNG, exploring the crisis facing the prison system through the stories of three families.
Woodhill comes to the Brighton Dome on Friday 9 October and Saturday 10 October, both nights starting at 19:30. It's a piece of documentary theatre and dance from LUNG, the multi-award-winning company that wrote it.
The show follows three families whose sons died at HMP Woodhill prison, told in their own words. Those accounts are staged with gut-punching choreography and unflinching beats, and the whole thing is aimed at shining a light on the crisis facing the prison system. It's a heavy subject, and the documentary approach means the families' own voices stay at the centre of it.
LUNG developed the piece with The North Wall, and they're the ones who wrote it, so it's their work from start to finish. The combination of spoken testimony and dance is what gives it its particular shape — the stories are told, then moved through, rather than just spoken.

Both performances are at the Brighton Dome on Church Street, BN1 1UE, and tickets are £10 standard guide price. It's a two-night run, so you've got the choice of Friday or Saturday, both starting at 19:30.
