First day of the Festival of Racing with flat racing, including the Brighton Mile Challenge, and live entertainment.
Brighton Racecourse kicks off its Festival of Racing on Wednesday 5 August, the first of three days of flat racing running from 5 to 7 August. It's the course's big August fixture, built around flat racing and billed as the place to be in the city during the month. The course itself sits high on the South Downs and is one of the most distinctive flat tracks in the UK, with a challenging, undulating horseshoe shape and views across Brighton and the sea.
Day one features the Brighton Mile Challenge. Day two is Ladies Day, with live entertainment from Denise Van Outen after the racing, and day three brings the Brighton Bullet. Alongside the racing, the festival leans on fashion and style, seaside vibes and live entertainment, and has grown in size and stature through a partnership with Star Sports.
The venue also works as a private-hire space for corporate conferences and parties, with race-day hospitality like private executive boxes and dining at the Silks Restaurant. Children 17 and under go free when accompanied by an adult.
