The focus of the evening is the album Hornet Disaster. Released in March 2025, this record is the spiritual successor to their acclaimed 2019 debut, Come in, and it’s a massive undertaking. Described as urgent, noisy, and maximalist, the album spans 19 tracks and meticulously revolves around the concept of hornets. It’s signature Weatherday, but pushed to its limits. For those who appreciate the details, the album includes the lead single 'Angel', features the artist’s first official song in Swedish ('Pulka'), and even incorporates a Renaissance flute on the track 'Green Tea Seaweed Sea'. It’s certainly a complex and varied piece of work, and seeing this expansive soundscape translated to a live setting is the main draw.
This performance takes place on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at The Hope & Ruin, located at 10–12 Queens Road. Doors are scheduled to open at 7:30 PM (19:30), with the event expected to finish up between 10:30 PM and 11:00 PM. If you plan on attending, be aware that this is strictly an 18+ event, so you’ll need to have your ID ready. Tickets are available online, generally priced around £16.69, though some vendors list them starting at £15 plus booking fees. If you’re interested in seeing one of the most intricate and noisy acts in the current experimental scene, this is where you need to be.
