A youth-led exhibition and live arts programme combining art, music and workshops to explore culture and community, presented by Lighthouse's Future Creative Leaders.
If you are looking for something a bit different to do on Monday, 25 May 2026, the Studio Theatre at the Brighton Dome is hosting an event called We, Generate. It is part of a broader 'Youth Curated Weekend' taking over the theatre for two days. The whole concept is built around a group known as Lighthouse’s Future Creative Leaders, who have put together an exhibition and live arts programme that mixes music, workshops, and art installations. The idea behind it is to explore how younger generations are shaping culture, with a focus on themes like community, accessibility, and social justice.

What makes this interesting is the specific focus each of the ten creative leaders brings to the table. They are tackling a wide range of topics: Casey Galt is looking at neurodivergent voices, while Elsa Monteith and Lucia Comaschi are focusing on narrative and digital storytelling. You will also find Dr. Fezile Sibanda exploring race and coloniality, Kaia Allen-Bevan discussing anti-racist leadership, and Jed Wright looking at offline creative communities. Other contributors include Levvy, who works with music and design for mental health, Megan Lee, who focuses on accessible creative spaces, Molly Taylor, who frames lived experience as a superpower, and Naiya, who is working on immersive narrative. It is essentially a space for experimentation, with the programme including live performances, open conversations, and workshops.
Regarding the logistics, the event is ticketed. The general public price is £5.00, though there are specific rates for the weekend: £10 for families and £5 for anyone under 30. If you are booking online or over the phone, there is an additional £3.50 booking fee, unless you are a member. It is worth noting that while the event is aimed at young people and families, anyone under 14 needs to be accompanied by an adult. The Studio Theatre is right on New Road, so it is easy to get to if you are already planning to be in the centre of Brighton near the Pavilion or the museum area.
