A cabaret-theatre show exploring human connection and BDSM, featuring four award-winning performers in a vulnerable and visible context.
If you are looking for something a bit different during this year's Brighton Fringe, there is a cabaret-theatre show called Transient and Trifling coming to the St Augustine's Arts and Events Centre. It is produced by Madeleine Margot and focuses on exploring human connection and BDSM. The show aims to bring these themes out of the underground and into a space of vulnerability and visibility, moving away from typical fetish tropes or shock value. It features a cast of four performers—Madeleine Margot, Rawdon Cooper, Purrsia Kitt, and Posey Mehta—who share personal reflections alongside the history of the BDSM community. The production is entirely queer-led, and the performance itself is a mix of new acts and classic numbers, including pole dance, burlesque, and bondage.

The show runs for 95 minutes and includes an interval. It is scheduled for a few dates towards the end of May: Thursday, 21 May at 19:15, Friday, 22 May at 19:15, and Saturday, 23 May with two performances at 13:45 and 19:15. The venue, located on Stanford Avenue (BN1 6EA), will have its bar open an hour before each show starts. Tickets are priced at ÂŁ15.00 for standard entry, with a concession rate of ÂŁ12.00 available.
Since this is a show dealing with adult themes, there is a strict 18+ age restriction in place, and the venue operates a no-babes-in-arms policy. It is also worth noting that the production includes specific content warnings: there will be audience interaction, strong language, nudity, sadomasochism, sexual references, partial nudity, and the use of fake blood. If you are planning to attend, it is helpful to keep these elements in mind as they are central to the performance's approach to its subject matter.
