A night of live music and burlesque featuring Tragic Roundabout, the Qwarks, the Crumpets and DJ Spin Cycle, a collaboration between The Real Music Club and Cellar Dweller.
Tragic Roundabout, the Qwarks, and the Crumpets are taking over The Prince Albert on Saturday 19 September, with DJ Spin Cycle on the decks. The night is a collaboration between two Brighton live-music institutions, The Real Music Club and Cellar Dweller, and it brings together a few different kinds of act under one roof.
Tragic Roundabout are the festival stalwarts of the bunch — five musicians and a drummer whose songs they say spring from their journeys across Europe. The Qwarks are Brighton's own genre-fluid, skronk guitar trio, and their songs cover ground as random as rabbits, social media influencers and bathroom floors. Joining them is The Defamation Project, a family band rooted in chaos, known for dense, orchestrated sonic assaults and a spooky ambience.
It's not just music, though. The Crumpets are the Cellar Dweller house burlesque troupe, and they'll be slotting in wild, surreal vignettes between the sets. DJ Spin Cycle, the Cellar Dweller house DJ performing under a new name, will be spinning vinyl and running an authentic psychedelic lightshow throughout the night.
